A Special Meeting of the Dublin Parks & Community Services Commission was held on Monday, November 27, 2017, in the Dublin Civic Center Council Chamber. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM., by Commissioner Janine Thalblum. 1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance Commissioner Janine Thalblum: Present, Commissioner Philip Tucker: Present, Commissioner Matthew Giller: Present, Commissioner Michelle Smith McDonald: Present, Commissioner Tom Madigan: Present, Commissioner Nicole Butler: Present. 2. Oral Communications Senior Center Advisory Committee Member Eddie Jo Mack reported on the November Senior Center Advisory Committee meeting and upcoming events. Youth Advisory Committee Liaison Nicole Butler reported on the November Youth Advisory Committee meeting. 2.1. Public Comment None. 40. 3. Approval the minutes of the September 18, 2017 and October 16, 2017 Regular Meetings of the Parks & Community Services Commission. 4. Written Communication None. • 5. Public Hearing None. 6. Dublin Crossing Community Park Plan Mr. James M. Rodems, Parks and Community Services Director, and Mr. Joe Guerra, Brookfield Residential, presented the details of the project as outlined in the Staff Report. The Commission asked about lighting for the courts and pathways, parking for the museum site, shade structures, and how the Great Lawn area would be used for sports fields. Mr. Guerra explained that with the project already being over budget, features for court lighting and additional shade structures could not be incorporated into the project. He stated pathways would be lit, and parking for the museum site, if realized, would be incorporated adjacent to the site. He explained that the Great Lawn area could be used for pickup soccer and baseball games or practices, however, the main purpose of the areas would be as a passive area. ACTION The Commission recommended approval to City Council for the Dublin Crossing Community Park final conceptual plan and the list of amenities included. Summer Quarterly Report Recreation Supervisors, Ms. Lisa McPherson, Mr. Rich Jochner, and Mr. Damian Sandholm, presented the specifics of the item as outlined in the Staff Report. ACTION The Commission received the Report. • 8. Other Business Commissioners provided brief informational reports on events and meetings attended since the last Commission meeting.
