The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM., by Commissioner Robert Bennett. 1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance Commissioner Robert Bennett: Present, Commissioner Georgean Vonheeder-Leopold: Present, Commissioner Rita Szollos: Present, Commissioner Kathy Blackburn: Present, Commissioner Kit Lau: Present, Commissioner S.Tejas Peesapati: Present, Commissioner Sammy Jo Rudy: Present. Chair Bennett led the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. Oral Communications Ms. Tegan McLane, Heritage & Cultural Arts Manager, introduced Sammy Jo Rudy as the new Heritage & Cultural Arts Commissioner. Commissioner Rudy thanked Ms. McLane and the Commission. 2.1. Dublin Art Collective Presentation Ms. McLane invited Vanessa Thomas to the podium. Ms. Vanessa Thomas thanked the Commissioners and presented information on the Dublin Art Collective. Chair Bennett thanked Ms. Thomas and opened the floor to Commissioners for questions. The Commissioners provided general comments and questions related to information-sharing through social media, community engagement, and participation of other art-based groups. Ms. Thomas responded about the need for broader involvement and support to keep and grow participation. The Commissioners thanked Ms. Thomas for her work and efforts with the Dublin Art Collective. 2.2. Public Comment Chair Bennett opened the floor for public comment. Ms. Wolski stated how she would like to see a Creative Art Center in Dublin and asked how the public can express interest to City Council. Seeing no other comments from the public, Chair Bennett closed the floor for public comment. 3. Approve the minutes of February 8, 2018 Regular Meeting of the Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission. ACTION: Approved as presented. • 4. Written Communication - None 5. Public Hearing - None 40* 6. Unfinished Business - None • 7. New Business 7.1. Public Safety Complex Art Selection Committee Representative Ms. McLane presented the specifics of the item as outlined in the Staff Report. Chair Bennett opened the floor to nominations for a Commission member to serve on the Public Art Selection Committee for a public art piece to be installed at the new Public Safety Complex. ACTION: Heritage et CufturatArts Commission Aprtif12,2018 fsgufar Meeting (Page 12 On a motion by Cm. Blackburn, seconded by Cm. Rudy, and by a vote of 7-0-0, the Commission selected Cm. Lau as the representative and Cm. Szollos as the alternate to serve on the Public Art Selection Committee for a public art piece to be installed at the new Public Safety Complex. 8. Other Business Brief information only reports from Commissioners and/or Staff, including committee reports and reports by the Commission related to meetings attended at City expense (AB 1234). Ms. McLane provided program and event updates. The Commissioners provided brief informational reports on events and meetings attended. 9. Adjournment Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by Chair Bennett at 8:16 PM.
