A Regular Meeting of the Dublin Human Services Commission was held on Thursday, May 25,
2017 in the City Council Chamber of the Dublin Civic Center. The meeting was called to order at
7:05 PM by Vice Chair Hassan.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited by the Commission, Staff and those present.

3.1 PUBLIC COMMENTS – None.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
4.1 Special Meeting March 23, 2017
On a motion by Cm. Fiedler, seconded by Cm. Rudy, and by a vote of 4-0-0, with Chair Brown
absent, the Commission took the following action:

Approved minutes of the March 23, 2017 Special Meeting as presented.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS – None.

NEW BUSINESS
8.1 Axis Community Health Dental Project Update
Ms. Rhonda Franklin, Management Analyst, presented the item as outlined in the Staff Report.
Ms. Sue Compton, Axis Community Health Chief Executive Officer, provided an update on the
status of the Dental Services Project.
Ms. Compton answered Commissioner questions regarding next steps for the project, potential
project locations, and project sustainability.

October 25, 201 7
A Special Meeting of the Dublin Human Services Commission was held on Wednesday, October
25, 2017 in the City Council Chamber of the Dublin Civic Center. The meeting was called to
order at 7:00 PM by Vice Chair Hassan.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The pledge of allegiance to the flag was recited by the Commission, Staff and those present.

City of Dublin
Commissioners Fiedler, Hassan, Rudy, and Songey. Staff Members Cronin and Franklin.
City of Livermore
Commissioners Antonio, Kai, Hom, Khan, Kirby, and Sutton. Staff Members Robinson, Young,
and Green.
City of Pleasanton
Commissioners Clare, Hayes, Parikh, Parekh, Subramaniam, Sediak, Wright. Staff members
Ingram and Weisgerber.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
2.1 PUBLIC COMMENTS – None.
2.2 Introductions
City staff members led introductions for themselves and their Commissioners.
2.3 Overview of Commission Work Plan and Accomplishments
Each Commission provided a brief report on its accomplishments and work plans for the coming
year. Mr. Shehu Hassan provided the report for Dublin, Mr. Eric Hom provided the report for
Livermore, and Ms. Meera Parikh provided the report for Pleasanton.
2.4 Alameda County Services in the Tri-Valley
Mr. Josh Thurman, Deputy Chief of Staff for Supervisor Scott Haggerty, presented an overview
of poverty in the Tri-Valley as well as county services provided in the Tri -Valley. The discussion
points included poverty trends, and the impact these trends are having on county supported
social services and Tri-Valley service organizations.

2.5 Update on Dental Project
Ms. Sue Compton, Axis Community Health Chief Executive Officer, provided an update on the
status of the Dental Services project. She explained the next steps for the project, including
anticipated fundraising efforts, the dilemma with finding suitable site locations, and project
sustainability.
2.6 Homelessness in the Tri-Valley
Mr. Jason Blair, Abode Services Director of Housing Programs, provided information on the
types of homelessness related services Adobe Services provides in the Tri-Valley and Alameda
County.
2.7 Feed Tri-Valley Food Drive
Mr. David Weisgerber, Recreation Coordinator, provided the results of the Feed Tri-Valley Food
Drive held July 10-23, 2017.
