Acceptance of Work - CIP Project No. PK0105, Emerald Glen Recreation
& Aquatic Complex Audio System

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will consider acceptance of the audio system improvements for the
Emerald Glen Recreation and Aquatic Complex, CIP No. PK0105. The project pro vided
installation of an audio system for the building and exterior pool decks.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the Resolution Accepting the Emerald Glen Recreation & Aquatic Complex
Audio System (CIP No. PK0105).
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Emerald Glen Recreation & Aquatic Complex Audio System, Project No. PK0105,
had an improvement budget of $197,890, funded by the Public Facilities Fee. The
project is now complete with $195,500 spent on audio system improvements.
DESCRIPTION:
On December 20, 2016, the City Council awarded a contract to 54 Electric, Inc. in the
amount of $179,000, for Emerald Glen Recreation & Aquatic C omplex (CIP No.
PK0105), with a 10 percent construction contingency in the amount of $17,990, for a
total budget of $197,890. The scope of work included the installation of a complete
audio system including paging within the building and on the exterior pool decks.
One change order was issued on the project in the total amount of $16,500. The
change order covered compensation to the Contra ctor for work associated with
additional functionality to allow audio and paging capability in different zones and the
addition of additional system control panels.
Staff has determined that the project is complete and recommends that the City Council
accept the project and begin the warranty period.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

ACCEPTING THE EMERALD GLEN RECREATION AND AQUATIC COMPLEX
AUDIO SYSTEM (CIP NO. PK0105)
WHEREAS, on December 20, 2016, the City of Dublin entered into a contract
with 54 Electric, Inc. to install an audio system at Emerald Glen Recreation & Aquatic
Complex, CIP No. PK0105; and
WHEREAS, said improvements have been completed in accordance with plans
and specifications, and any approved modifications thereof, to the satisfaction of the
City Engineer of the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, as a condition of the contract, 54 Electric, Inc. is required to
warranty the improvements for a period of one year following acceptance of th e work by
the City of Dublin and maintain a maintenance bond in the amount of 10% of the final
contract value.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Dublin does hereby accept the improvements, Emerald Glen Recreation & Aquatic
Complex Audio System (CIP No. PK0105) and authorize staff to file a Notice of
Completion with Alameda County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby authorize the City Manager or his designee to release the retention, if after 35
days of filing the Notice of Completion there are no subcontractor claims.
