The purpose of the master plan is to develop cost projections and planning guidelines for long term improvements to the Dublin Sports Grounds. Criteria for the design and arrangement of park facilities included a thorough analysis of existing and future considerations affecting the site, maintenance and sports league requirements. In developing this criteria, interviews were conducted with Public Works and Recreation Department Staff as well as with sports league representatives. The resulting plan was then reviewed and approved by the Park and Recreation Commission at their meeting of April 10. 1990. The master plan has been divided in three phases in order to allow development to take place as funds become available and also to allow for continued use of portions of the facility during reconstruction. The highest priority items, as indicated by the Park and Recreation Commission, are contained in Phase I. However improvements indicated in Phase II and Phase III are also crucial to the overall maintenance and function of the sports grounds. In addition to the three phases, the consultant has also identified general repair and maintenance items along with cost estimates that will be incorporated into the operating budget for the sports grounds.
