HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 142-18 Authorizing Staff to Purchase Four Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) Computers from NWN Corporation RESOLUTION NO. 142 — 18 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PURCHASE FOUR MOBILE DATA TERMINAL (MDT) COMPUTERS FROM NWN CORPORATION WHEREAS, on May 15, 2018, City Council approved the purchase of two marked 2018 Dodge Charger Police Vehicles. To fully outfit these new vehicles, two mobile data terminal (MDT) computers will need to be purchased; and WHEREAS, workload indicators also showed the need for both the general investigations unit and special investigations unit to have a designated MDT for each of their respective units; and WHEREAS, Staff conducted research to determine which available MDT would best meet the needs of Dublin Police and selected the Getac V110 G3 GUSA — Intel Core i5-6200U Processors and associated equipment from NWN Corporation; and WHEREAS, the State of California entered into a contract with NWN Corporation for the purchase of Getac Rugged and Semi-Rugged Laptop computers or MDT's with an expiration date of June 30, 2020; and WHEREAS, piggybacking off of the State of California contract, Staff has obtained a quote from NWN Corporation for four Getac V110 G3 GUSA — Intel Core i5-6200U Processors and associated equipment at a cost of$21,467.34; and WHEREAS, Dublin Police Services has revenue from state asset seizure and forfeitures which will allow for the purchase of operational supplies and equipment for the improvement and enhancement of the department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby authorize the City Manager as the Purchasing Agent to procure four Getac V110 G3 GUSA — Intel Core i5-6200U Processors and associated equipment from NWN Corporation; and approve the budget change.
