HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 42-19 Approving Plans and Specifications and Awarding a Contract to American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Co., Inc., for the “2019 Slurry Seal” Project RESOLUTION NO. 42— 19 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO AMERICAN ASPHALT REPAIR AND RESURFACING CO., INC., FOR THE ANNUAL STREET RESURFACING PROJECT "2019 SLURRY SEAL," CIP NO. ST0117 WHEREAS, the design team completed plans and specifications for the Annual Street Resurfacing Project "2019 Slurry Seal", CIP No. ST0117, ("Project"). The work includes localized repair of failed asphalt concrete pavement, slurry seal, and pavement delineation on 81 street segments; and WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on April 23, 2019, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved plans and specifications for the Project, which plans and specifications, are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the Public Works Director, who has recommended that the bid hereinafter is the lowest responsive bid for doing said work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin hereby approves the plans and specifications for the Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby award the Contract for the Project, to the lowest responsive bidder, American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Co., Inc., at a bid of one million three hundred ninety-two thousand, three hundred two dollars and zero cents ($1,392,302.00), the particulars of which bid are on file in the Office of the Public Works Director. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby authorize the City Manager or his designee to approve the Project Contract Change Orders based on the appropriate funds designated for the Project up to the contingency amount of one-hundred fifty thousand dollars and zero cents ($150,000.00). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute the Project Construction Agreement with American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Co., Inc. Reso 42-19, Adopted 5/7/2019, Item 4.9 Page 1 of 2 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of May 2019, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Goel, Hernandez, Josey, Kumagai, and Mayor Haubert NOES: ABSENT: ABSTAIN: Ma or ATTE : (14/47 ( 6C1- City Clerk Reso 42-19, Adopted 5/7/2019, Item 4.9 Page 2 of 2
