A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
IN SUPPORT OF STATE BOND MEASURE
FOR LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, there is a State bond measure for library
construction and renovation on the November, 1988 ballot; and
WHEREAS, there is a statewide need for almost $1 billion
in such funds to assist local jurisdictions to provide new
libraries to meet community demands; and
WHEREAS, such need also exists in a number of
communities in Alameda County; and
WHEREAS, this bond measure, Proposition 85, would
provide $75 million toward such needs and require a 35% local
match; and
WHEREAS, this measure would provide critical help toward
meeting this statewide need.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Dublin does hereby support this measure and urges the
citizens of Dublin to support Proposition 85.
