DESCRIPTION: This project installed acoustic ceiling tile and acoustic wall panels in
the dining/training area of the Donohue Drive fire station. The work was done to reduce the sound echo
that occurred because of the hard surface walls. The echo was particularly detrimental to training
activities. Acoustic conditions are noticeably improved as a result of this work.
The work has been completed satisfactorily and in accordance with project specifications. Staff
recommends that the City Council accept the improvements and authorize payment to LJ Interiors in the
amount of $5,171, less 10% retention to be paid in 35 days if no claims are received.
