DESCRIPTION: On May 15, 2001, the City Council awarded Contract No. 01-06, Annual Slurry Seal Program, to American Asphalt Repair & Resurfacing Co., Inc. Slurry seal is a preventive maintenance technique used to prolong the life of asphalt surfacing. Slurry consists of a sand/oil mixture which seals cracks and provides a new uniform wearing surface. City streets are slurried approximately every five to seven years, depending upon the level of wear. The contractor slurry sealed the following streets: Dougherty Road (North City Limit to 300' north of Amador Valley Boulevard), Dublin Boulevard (West end to 400' east of Silvergate Drive), Starward Drive, Maple Drive and Gunshot Court. Staff has reviewed the work on the project and has determined that the work is complete. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvements under Contract No. 01-06 and authorize the release of retention after 35 days if there are no subcontractor claims. ------------------------------- ---------------------- COPIES TO: American Asphalt °mg- &4-,, ITEM NO. #4# 41f gAmntcproj\slun-yWS acceptance 01-06
