HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 92-19 Caltrans to Update the City of Dublin Population on City Limit Signs Located on Freeways RESOLUTION NO. 92 — 19 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN * * * * * * * * * * * * REQUESTING CALTRANS UPDATE THE CITY OF DUBLIN POPULATION ON CITY LIMIT SIGNS LOCATED ON FREEWAYS WHEREAS the City of Dublin has experienced a substantial increase in population since 2014; and WHEREAS, the population shown on the existing four signs located on the 1-580 and 1-680 freeways have not been updated to reflect the population increase; and WHEREAS, there was no request to update the population on signs in the last five years; and WHEREAS, Streets and Highways Code, Section 101.4 requires a legislative body to request that the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) update such signs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Dublin, in accordance with the Streets and Highways Code, requests that Caltrans update the population on the existing four city limit signs on 1-680 and 1-580 freeways. BE IT FURHTER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby authorize the City Manager, or designee, to submit any future request to Caltrans for installation or update of such signs on behalf of the City Council.
