This project is funded through the Intemal Service Fund (ISF).
DESCRIPTION: On April 3, 2001, the City Council authorized Staff to solicit bids
for Contract No. 01-05, Shannon Community Center HVAC Systems. This project will replace seven
existing heating systems at the Shannon Community Center with new energy-efficient HVAC units. The
new units are certified with the Energy Star Symbol and will serve the administration office, social hall,
west/east rooms, kitchen, preschool and meeting rooms.
The work in this contract includes removing and disposing of the existing heating systems, installing new
energy-efficient HVAC systems, electrical work and new concrete pads for the air conditioning units.
A total of two bids were received for the project. The low bidder was Breeze Air Systems, Inc., with a bid
of $49,000.00. The second bidder was Martinez Sheet Metal, Inc., with a bid of $61,570.00.
Staff has reviewed the bid results and recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding
Contract No. 01-05, Shannon Community Center HVAC Systems, to Breeze Air Systems, Inc.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
.AWARDING CONTRACT NO. 01-05
SHANNON COMMUNITY CENTER HVAC SYSTEMS
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on July 24, 2001, publicly open, examine, and declare
all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract No. 01-05, Shannon Community Center HVAC Systems, authorized by the City Council on
April 3, 2001, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a
description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has recommended that
the bid .hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award City of Dublin Contract No. 01-05 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit, Breeze
Air Systems, Inc., at a bid of Forty-Nine Thousand Dollars ($49,000.00), the particulars of which bid are
on file in the Office of the City Engineer.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21 st day of August, 2001.
