The proposed rate for Project Coordinator is $65.00 per hour. This position would provide an estimated 1,580 hours of service during the 2001-02 fiscal year. The contractual "not to exceed" for Zumwalt's existing agreement is not proposed to be changed at this time. DESCRIPTION: The City has contracted with Zumwalt Engineering Group since 1997 for general engineering services. The scope of work has primarily been in the area of private development review, and, .to a lesser degree, Capital Project design. The rate schedule which was approved by the City Council for 2001-02 does not include a position with the title of Project Management Assistant. Staff is proposing to utilize such a position, primarily to coordinate recordkeeping, issuance of certain permits, and project closeouts for private development projects. The cost of services would be paid by the various developers. This contract position is expected to improve service from a time and efficiency standpoint, as the existing Staff workload has precluded accomplishment of some of these tasks in a timely manner. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution approving the amendment to the agreement. RESOLUTION NO. - O1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN APPROVING AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH ZUMWALT ENGINEERING GROUP WHEREAS, the City of Dublin, State of Califomia, entered into an agreement with Zumwalt Engineering Group on July 7, 1997; and WHEREAS, said agreement was extended through June 30, 2003, with an approved rate schedule for Fiscal Year 2001-02; and WHEREAS, said rate schedule does not include a rate for the position of Project Management Assistant; and WHEREAS, the City desires to utilize the position of Project Management Assistant for certain services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby approve the amendment to the agreement with Zumwalt Engineering Group, which is attached hereto as "Exhibit A." EXHIBIT "A" OF RESOLUTION -01 AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF DUBLIN AND ZUMWALT ENGINEERING GROUP FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Dublin (hereinafter referred to as "CITY") and Zumwalt Engineering Group (hereinafter referred to as "CONSULTANT"), entered into an agreement on July 7, 1997, to provide engineering services to CITY; and 2003; and WHEREAS, said agreement was amended to extend the effective date through June 30, WHEREAS, the amendment and rate schedule approved for Fiscal Year 2001-02 does not include the position of Project Management Assistant; and WHEREAS, the City is proposing to utilize the position of Project Management Assistant; NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: Addition of Proiect Coordinator Rate The approved rate sChedule for 2001-02 shall be amended to add a charge rate for Project Coordinator of $65.00 per hour. Since the classification of Project Management Assistant is not included in our current fee schedule (Exhibit 1 of the amendment to our Agreement for Engineering Services approved by the City Council on July 3, 2001), we have included a revised fee schedule for your review. The rate for the Project Management Assistant position will be $65.00/hour. It is our understanding that you will arrange for City Council approval of a contract amendment to include the revised fee schedule.
