A Regular Meeting of the Dublin Heritage & Cultural Arts Commission was held on
Thursday, November 8, 2018, in The Wave Community Room.
1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Commission Vice Chair Vonheeder-
Leopold. The pledge of allegiance was recited by those present at the meeting.

and Cultural Arts Commission.

September 2018 and provide feedback as desired.

6. Unfinished Business
6.1. Veterans Art Word Selection
Tegan McLane, Cultural Arts and Heritage Manager, presented the specifics of
the item as outlined in the Staff Report.
The Commissioners provided general comments and questions related to the
origins of core value words and its' relationship to each branch of military service.
ACTION:
On a motion by Cm. Bennett, seconded by Cm. Szollos, and by a vote of 5-0-0
with Cm. Blackburn and Cm. Rudy absent, the Commission recommended that
City Council approve the core value words of: Honor, Service, Courage and
Integrity to be included in the Veterans Art piece at Don Biddle Community Park.
7. New Business
7.1. Cultural Arts Summer Quarterly Report
Laura Johnston, Recreation Supervisor, presented the specifics of the item as
outlined in the Staff Report.
The Commission received the report.
7.2. Calendar of Proposed Commission Items for Fiscal Year 2018-19
Mrs. McLane presented the specifics of the item as outlined in the Staff Report.
The Commission received the report.
7.3. Dublin Sports Grounds Task Force Representative
Mrs. McLane presented the specifics of the item as outlined in the Staff Report.

Vice Chair Vonheeder-Leopold opened the floor for nominations for two
Commission members to serve on the Dublin Sports Grounds Task Force.
ACTION:
On a motion by Cm. Bennett, seconded by Cm. Szollos, and by a vote of 5-0-0
with Cm. Blackburn and Cm. Rudy absent, the Commission selected Cm.
Vonheeder-Leopold and Cm. Bennett to serve on the Dublin Sports Grounds
Task Force.
8. Other Business
Commissioners provided informational reports on recent events and meetings attended.
Ms. McLane provided information on Commissioner terms and reapplying procedures,
and updates about programs and events.
9. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM.
