HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-02-2019 SCAC Special MinutesSENIOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Thursday, May 2, 2019 A Special Meeting of the Senior Advisory Committee was held on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Dublin Senior Center. The meeting was called to order at 9:32 a.m. by Committee Chair Michele Wayland. 1. Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance 2. Oral Communications 2.1. NONE 3. Consent Calendar 3.1. Approve the minutes of the Apri14, 2018 Regular Senior Advisory Committee meeting. 3.2. March 2019 Monthly Report ACTION On a motion by CM Connie Mack, seconded by CM Susan Miller, and by a vote of 4-0-0, the Senior Advisory Committee took the following action: Approved the minutes of the April 4, 2019 Regular Meeting, and received the March 2019 Monthly report. 4. New Business 4.1. Trips and Tours Survey Results Staff presented an overview of the results of the Trips and Tours Survey Senior,44*ory Committee May 2, 2019 SpeadMeeting (Page 11 conducted February 1-28, 2019 as outlined in the Staff report. The Dublin Senior Advisory Committee thanked Staff for their report. ACTION: The Committee received the report 4.2. Classes, Programs and Activities Satisfaction Survey Results Staff presented an overview of the results as outlined in the Staff report. CM Christine Sevier commended the Center on such high satisfaction rates. She asked which programs had the largest number of participants. CM Michele Wayland reported that residents of The Groves at Dublin Ranch, where she works, have been hesitant to attend the Center because they did not have transportation. Ms. Wayland offered to promote classes and set up a transportation schedule with The Groves residents to and from the Dublin Senior Center to attend programs. CM Susan Miller recommended the possibility of an opportunity to assist in educating people about the Center, and promoting programs and activities offered at the Center, and if it could be discussed at a future meeting. ACTION: The Committee received the report 8. Other Business The Advisory Committee members and Staff provided brief reports on meetings attended and upcoming events. CM Michele Wayland agreed to attend the May Parks and Community Services Commission meeting and provide the Senior Advisory Committee report. 9. Adjournment Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:45 AM.
