The total value of the Grant is $1,000
DESCRIPTION: On November 1, 2008, the Dublin Heritage Center will be
conducting a "Farm Life Workshop" as one of ten workshops that are offered during the school year on
the first Saturday of the month. Additionally, a professional exhibit entitled "Farm Life-A Century of
Change" will be on display from October 21 through November 19. In order to provide a comprehensive
program for the workshop which would include; a Master Chef Demonstration, farm fresh produce, a
Petting Zoo for youth and additional promotion, Staff applied for a National Endowment for the
Humanities Grant to fund some of the additional program elements.
On August 12, 2008, Staff was notified that the City has been awarded a $1,000 grant for the program.
The letter of confirmation (Attachment 1) indicated that the Heritage Center's workshop has been
designated as a National Endowment for the Humanities "We the People" project and is being supported
in part by funds the agency has set aside for this special initiative.
Attached is a Budget Change Form (Attachment 2) to recognize the unanticipated revenue and to increase
the Heritage Center Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Budget by $1,000.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Budget Change.
