FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
None. Funding for celebration activities will be presented with the
Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Budget.
DESCRIPTION: The City of Dublin was incorporated on February I, 1982. The Year 2007 marks
the City's 25th year as an incorporated City
In 2002, the City at the annual Goals and Objective meeting, the City Council established a high priority
goal of coordinating a 20 years of Cityhood community celebration and public information program to
celebrate the milestone anniversary In anticipation of City's 25th anniversary year, Staff placed a similar
item on the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 annual Goals and Objectives as a high priority
In order to coordinate 25th anniversary events/activities, Staff is recommending that the City Council
appoint two Councilmembers to work with an internal Staff committee regarding the planning and
execution of various community events and activities. Once this Ad Hoc Council Sub-Committee has
developed a program to commemorate the City's 25th anniversary, the Sub-Committee recommendations
will be brought back to the entire City Council for adoption.
Staff recommends that the City Council appoint two Councilmembers to service for a limited time,
through September 2006, on the Ad Hoc Sub-Committee to make recommendations for the 25 years of
Cityhood community celebration.
