The estimate for the park furniture replacement is grcatcr than what
was originally budgcted due to mcreased labor estimates. Funds arc
availahle in Measure D if bids rcsults ncccssitate addll10nal
resourccs.
DESCRIPTION; The Park Furniture Replaccmcnt Project was approved as part of the
2004-2009 Capital Improvcmcnt Program. The mtent of the project is to replace existing picnic tables,
henches and trash receptacles with new furniture consisting of rccycled plastic and metal components.
The project schedule extends over four fiscal years at the following locations:

Staff has prepared a Notice Inviting Bids and the furniture replacement at Dolan Park is part of the base
bid scope of work. In an effort to garner an improved pTlemg structure by increasing the furniture
purchase, Staff has included the furniture at Stagecoach and Alamo Creek parks as additIve bid items.
The two parks are scheduled to have furniture replaced in Fiscal Year 2006-2007. If funds are available in

Fiscal Year 2006-2007, Staff will phase the project and would seek Council approval to include the
additivc bid items after Council has adoptcd the 2006-2007 budget.
RECOMMENDATION; It is reeommended that the City Council authorize Staff to advertISe
Contraet 06-06, Park Furniture Replacement Projeet for hHls.
