FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
None
DESCRIPTION: The Political Reform Ad requires every local government agency to
revicw its Conflict of Interest Code biennially to determine ifit is accurate or if the Code needs
amendment. The last revision to the City's Codc was approved on October 5, 2004.
The City Council is the code reviewing body tilr City agencies, and the City Council must notify
themselves that the City will review and makc a determination, by October 1,2006, if there is a need to
amend the conflict of interest code (See Cal Gov't Code * 1\7306.5).
This Staff Report serves as the City Council's notice that Staff will determine, by October 1, 2006, if there
is a need to update tbe City's conflict of interest code. If a notice is filed on October 1, 2006 indicating an
amendment is ncccssary, the amendment is due to the City Council by December 30, 2006. The City's
amended code will not be effective until it bas been approved by the City Council.
Staff recommends that the City Council direct Staff to review the City's Conflict of Interest Code to
determine iftbere IS a need to updatc the Code.
