FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Budget for Senior Center FurnitureÆquipment $ 429,000 Bid Amount Senior Center Furniture $ 184,934 DESCRIPTION: The City Council authorized the Request for Proposals thc Senior Center Furniture project at the March 15, 2005 Council meeting. The Senior Center Furnishings Request for Proposal included; banquet tables and chairs, classroom seating and tables, game room seating and tables, office furnishings, sofas and lounge chairs for the public spaces and conference room furniture. The request for proposal also included exterior seating and tables for the enclosed patio areas. StatY issued the RFP on March 16, 2005 and posted public notices in the Valley Times. After a threc- week solicitation period, on AprilS, 2005 thc following bids werc submitted: I) 2) 3) One Work Place The Corncr Office Pivot Interiors $184,934 $186,061 $188,165 The estimated costs for the furnishings were incorporated in the budget for the Senior Ccnter project. Staff recommends adding a ten percent contingency to the furnishing project for a total estimated cost of $203,427. Staff has revicwcd the bid proposals and confirmed the low bidder's references. StatY recommends awarding the contract to One Work Place. If the contract is awarded the project will commence immediately and finish by JWle 2005. It should be noted that the balance available in the Senior Center Furniture/Equipment Budget of $225,573 is earmarked for modular otf1ce furniture, audio·visual equipment, phones and kitchen equipment. While a formal competitive bidding process is not required for these purchases, the equipment will be procured under the procedures of the City Purchasing Ordinance. C/ I~I RESOLUTION NO.- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ********** AWARDING CONTRACT NO. 05-04 SENIOR CENTER FURNITURE TO ONE WORK PLACE. WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on AprilS, 2005, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans and Specifications for Contract No. 05-04, which Plans and Specifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Clerk, and the bids were reviewed to determine the lowest bid which was responsive to the requirements of the bid documents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council ofthe City of Dublin does hereby award Contract No. 05-04 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit, One Work Place, at a base bid of One Hundred Eighty Four Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty Four dollars ($184,934) the particulars of which bid are on file in the office ofthe City Engineer.
