DESCRIPTION: On February 15,2005, the City Council appointed Mayor Lockhart
as and Councilmember l-lildenbrand as Representatives to the Tri-Valley Triangle Study Policy Advisory
Committee (PAC). The PAC is composed of two representatives from each of the following jurisdictions
representing the Tri -Valley area:
City of Dublin
City of Livermore
City of Pleasant on
County of Alameda
The purpose of the Tri-Valley Triangle Study is to develop a long-range transportation plan for
improvements on 1-580, 1-680 and Route 84 that benefits the Tri-Vallcy region. The recommended
project sequencing and implementation strategy from the Study will provide improvements to relieve
congestion and meet the transportation needs in the area in a cost effective manner,
The Alameda County Congestion Management Agency (CMA) is the sponsor of the Tri-Valley Triangle
Study. On June 23, 2005, the CMA Board authorized the three Cities and the County to appoint one
alternate each to the PAC to ensure that every jurisdiction wil1 be represented at all meetings.
Staff recommends that the City Council appoint an Alternate Representative to the Tri-Valley Triangle
Study Policy Advisory Committee and direct Staff to notifY the Alameda County Congestion Management
Agency of the appointment.
