DESCRIPTION: As a result of the development of Emerald Glen Fire Station No. 17, located on Madigan Road north of Gleason Drive, Alameda County has requested that the City grant a private easement across the fire station property to allow the County access for maintenance of the County's electric and telephone utilities. Said utilities include a 21 KV underground electrical power feeder and telephone lines that serve the County Emergency Operations Center. The easement lies along a portion of the fire station frontage and only minor sidewalk/landscaping improvements lie within the easement area. The City acquired title to the fire station property (Parcel 2 of Parcel Map 7708) from Alameda County via a Grant Deed recorded in August 2001 with the understanding that the easement would be granted once the fire station was complete. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the Resolution approving the Grant of Easement for electric and telephone utilities to Alameda County across Fire Station No. 17 property. m m m m m m m ~ m m m mmmmmmmmmmNm m~ NmmmmNmm mmmm mNmmmmm mmNmmm COPIES TO: Sue Hagen, Alameda County G:~DEVELOP~Fire Stations~Fire Station 17\agst easement County.doc RESOLUTION NO. - 04 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN APPROVAL OF GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR ELECTRIC AND TELEPHONE UTILITIES TO ALAMEDA COUNTY FOR EMERALD GLEN FIRE STATION NO. 17 WHEREAS, the City of Dublin (City) acquired title to the property for Emerald Glen Fire Station No. 17, located at 6200 Madigan Road. via a Grant Deed recorded on August 6, 2001, as Series No. 2001-285634; and WHEREAS, Alameda County has requested that the City grant a private easement for electric and telephone utilities across said Fire Station No. 17 (Parcel 2 of Parcel Map 7708) property to allow Alameda County access for maintenance; and WHEREAS, Alameda County has presented a Grant of Easement document to the City for execution; and WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the City to grant said easement to Alameda County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the easement across Fire Station No. 17 at 6200 Madigan Road, as more particularly described on thc Grant of Easement rc£ercnced herein as Exhibit A, is hereby granted to Alameda County pursuant to the terms contained within the easement document. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that thc City Council hereby directs and authorizes the Mayor to execute the Grant of Easement on behalf of the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall assure that the executed Grant o£ Easement document, together with a certified copy of this Resolution, are returned to Alameda County for subsequent acceptance and recording.
