CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, public libraries are the foundation of learning and the center for information and knowledge, and those u,ho devote their
professional'hves to the administration and enhancement of public libraries are to be commended and honored; and
WHEREAS, Pat Zahn has had a long and distinguished career in hbracy service and has directed the Dublin l~'bra7 since March 1994;
and
WHEREAS, the contribution that Pat Zahn has made to the peopk of Dublin through various library actim'ties have been of inestimabk value
and have earned her the respect and admiration of all those indim'duals fortunate enough to know her; and
WHEREAS, Pat Zahn has been the prima~ liaison with the Friends of the Dublin L~'bra~y who provide strong support for the library with
their volunteer efforts and donations; and
WHEREAS, Pat Zahn has built and supervised a team of dedicated library staff and prodded the necessary kadership and worked tirekssly
in the transition from the old library building to the new bmTdin3' and
WHEREAS, Pat Zahn has worked diligently to increase ,qbra~y services b_y supporting a new homework center, additional programming and
developed an outstanding collection which adds great depth to library materials; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her library responsibilities, Pat Zahn has worked dth many local dvic groups and most recently serving as
President of the Dublin Rotary Club, and in her community service is known for her straigh~rward approach, her kindness and her ~varmth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL WED that I, Janet Lockhart, Mayor of Dublin, on behalf of the entire City Coundl, do
hereby commend and express sincere appredation for the dedicated sem?e provided by VA T ZAHN and extend our best wishes for success m all
future endeavors.
