Dear Mayor Lockhart:
WHEELS Accessible Advisory Committee (WAAC) is an advisory committee to the
Livermore/Amador Valley Transit Authority Board of Directors on matters regarding the
usability of the WHEELS bus system. Each City Council & County Board of Supervisor
appoints members to this committee. Each entity appoints two regular members and one
alternate.
One member and one alternate appointed by the City Council remain current members,
but one regular member has resigned. We are requesting that the City Council appoint
one regular member and one alternate as required by the bylaws of WAAC. You may
wish to appoint the alternate as a full member and select a new alternate from the
applications enclosed.
We have solicited applications through newspaper ads. In addition, we conducted an
outreach to DIAL-A-RIDE clients and senior housing developments in the area.
The applications we received are attached.
We are asking for the appointments of your members by August 30, 2002, if possible. If
you have any questions about the process, please do not hesitate to contact me at 455-
7555.
Sincerely,
V. K. Sood
General Manager
