Consequently, this project was incorporated into the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Capital Improvement Program. A Purchase Order has been issued for the discing of the areas along the Iron Horse Trail to be seeded to prepare the soil to accept the hydi:°seed wildflower mix. Hydroseeding is a process by which seed and fertilizer is mixed with a binder and sprayed onto bare soil. The binder protects and holds the mixture together until the seeds can germinate. This process helps the seeds from being washed away by rains and keeps the birds from eating the seeds. COPIES TO: Bidders ITEM NO. ~ g:hniscproj\wildflower planting\agstaward It is expected that the seeds will flower in the spring, stay for about a month to six weeks, and then'die and drop seeds for the next growing season.
