RECOMMENDATION: /'~ A ./2F' 1) Approve modifications to "Exhibit A" of Agreement for
Enforcement of State Laws and City Ordinances between the City of
Dublin and Alameda County Sheriff's Office
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Modifications will result in savings of approximately $32,500:'
annually.
DESCRIPTION:
The current Agreement for Enforcement of State Laws and City Ordinances between the City of Dublin
and Alameda County Sheriff's Office is effective from July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2005. The
agreement states that the attached Exhibit A, Contract Staffing Chart, may be modified annually to reflect
the current staffing allocation. On February 18, 2003, City Council approved an alternative work schedule
for Police Services, thereby eliminating the need to add one sergeant position that was an approved higher
service level for Fiscal Year 2002-2003. This change will result is savings of approximately $27,600
annually.
Additionally, effective March 3, 2003, the Specialist Clerk assigned to Police Services transferred to
another duty station in the Sheriff's Office. In order to increase operational flexibility and provide an
additional cost savings of approximately $4,900 annually, staff has determined that this position should be
converted to the City's classification of Office Assistant.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the attached Exhibit A, Contract Staffing Chart, reflecting
the above changes.
