HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 3.1 DublinPrideWeekProc A Pt~OCLAMA TION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF DUBLIN CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, since 1985 the City of Dublin has celebrated "DUBLIN PRIDE WEEK';' and WTIEREAS, in order to focus on "Our City, Our Home," 2003 DUBLIN PRIDE WEEK concentrates on many exciting community volunteer events; and WHEREAS, participating in "DUBLIN PRIDE WEEK" is one way our youth and the community of Dublin can help raise awareness about feeling proud to help with the needs of others in the beautiful City in which we live; and WHEREAS, 2003 DUBLIN PRIDE WEEK's activities include senior projects, principal's wish list, creek clean-up day, canned food drive, e-waste and hazardous waste drop-off, poster contest, blood drive, t-shirt design contest and community rose garden; and WHEREAS, 2003 DUBLIN PRIDE WEEK committee members will distribute awards and giveaways such as t-shirts featuring t-shirt design contest winners art to all creek clean-up crews, cd cases, zipper pulls, community-related activity books, and magnets; and WHEREAS, community leaders are encouraged to spread the word about the excellent DUBLIN PRIDE WEEK programs and community spirit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Janet Lockhart, Mayor of Dublin, on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby proclaim the week of Saturday, April 25 through Saturday, May 3, 2003 as "2003 DUBLIN PRIDE WEEK" in the City of Dublin and encourages all community members to help raise awareness about the importance of pride in "Our City, Our Home.'
