for the event
3. Authorize up to $1,000 to provide commemorative gifts to

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: The East Bay Regional Park District has requested that Dublin set up
a City information booth with literature and commemorative gifts
during the event. To support this event, it is proposed to allocate up
to $1,000 from the City's General Fund. It is projected that Council
community promotional funds budgeted for FY 2002-2003 will not
be adequate for this event, and a budget change from Unallocated
Reserves is therefore recommended.
DESCRIPTION: The City of Dublin, Alameda County and the EBRPD have been
working together to construct the last segment of the Iron Horse Trail in Dublin, located between Amador
Valley Boulevard and the Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station. The Trail is now complete, and the City and
Alameda County have entered into a license agreement for Dublin to maintain and operate the portion of
the Iron Horse Trail located within this County property. As previously planned, the City intends to
convey the operation and maintenance of the 20-foot wide trail corridor to EBRPD. The sublicense
agreement between Dublin and EBRPD is currently being finalized and will be presented to the Cotmcil
for approval in the near future.
EBRPD has indicated their desire to dedicate this segment of the Iron Horse Trail on May 31, 2003, and
would like to partner with the City in this endeavor. Staff from EBRPD will make a presentation to the
Council to discuss the details of the dedication event.
