RECOMMENDATION: 'FINANCIAL STATEMENT: $2,480.00 was allocated in the 2002-2003 Fiscal Budget for plaques installed on all City owned artwork. Additional Funds have been included in the 2003-2004 Fiscal Year to complete the remaining art projects. DESCRIPTION: In 2001-2002 the Dublin City Council rated as a high priority g°al: "to install identification plaques on all City owned artwork in the community." At the April 17, 2003 meeting of the Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission, the commission reviewed a mock up of the art plaque, recommended fonts, and photographs of other art plaques for other communities. The Commission is recommending the following plaque layout for approval by City Council. (Attachment 1) The plaque would be installed in an appropriate location for all City owned artwork in the community. The plaques will be uniform in size and information; each plaque stating the title of the piece, the artist, the year completed and the City logo. In the case of the Art in the Parks artwork, the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation will also be included on the plaque. RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of Staff that City Council review the plaque approved by the Heritage and Cultural Arts Commission and approve the mock up for fabrication.
