DESCRIPTION: On August 6, 2002, the City Council awarded Contract No. 02-06,
Traffic Signal at Dougherty Road and Willow Creek Drive, to Brown and Fesler, Inc.
This project installed a traffic signal system at the intersection of Dougherty Road and Willow Creek
Drive. The traffic signal was warranted based on existing traffic volumes entering the intersection during
the morning peak hour. These volumes are expected to escalate steadily over time due to increased traffic
on Dougherty Road from the Dougherty Valley developments in Contra Costa County. The project has
been satisfactorily completed.
Staff recommends that the City Council accept improvements under Contract No. 02-08, Traffic Signal at
Dougherty Road and Willow Creek Drive, and authorize the release of retention after 35 days if there are
no subcontractor claims.
