The project will be paid for using Federal/State fimds, Gas Tax funds, PUC
Rule 20A fimds and Traffic Impact Fees. The undergrounding of aerial
utilities will be paid with Rule 20A funds budgeted under CIP#96080. In
addition, DSRSD has requested the City to incorporate the installation of a
4-inch recycled waterline in the City's project and will pay for all the costs
associated with this installation. A tentative agreement has been reached
and it will be presented to the Council for approval at the next Council
meeting. Staff has been working with Caltrans on the approval of
federal/state funds for construction and concurrence is anticipated to occur
in late January.
DESCRIPTION: Staff has completed the plans, specifications and estimates required to
advance the construction of the Dublin Boulevard Widening project from west of Village Parkway to
Sierra Court/Civic Plaza. The proposed capital project would increase the capacity of the roadway from

four to six lanes to accommodate future traffic demand, including traffic generated by several downtown
developments.
The proposed project would include the following:
· Widening of the roadway from four to six lanes from the vicinity of Village Parkway to Sierra
Court/Civic Plaza
· Widening of the Alamo Canal Bridge and restoration/stabilization of the canal slopes and bike trail
in the vicinity of the bridge
· Construct Alamo Canal bike trail access at the north side of Dublin Boulevard
· Repair and Overlay of existing street pavement
· Undergrounding of existing overhead utilities
· Upgrade existing traffic signals at the intersections of. Dublin/Clark Avenue and Dublin/Sierra
Court
· Landscaping of road median, installation of additional lighting and planting of street trees along
the sidewalk areas, and
· Installation of D SRSD's 4-inch recycled waterline.
Caltrans is finalizing its review of the City's request to proceed with construction and it is anticipated that
the City will have the approval by late January. The construction period is estimated at approximately 18
months. All businesses and property owners impacted by the project will be fully informed of the project
and access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Staff will work closely with them to minimize
construction impacts.
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize solicitation of bids for Contract No. 01-10, Dublin
Boulevard Widening Project between Village Parkway and Sierra Court/Civic Plaza.
