The Consultant had prepared building plans for the two stations. Station 17 is the larger of the two buildings at 11,000 square feet with a three-engine company. Station 18 has a two-engine company and is approximately 8,000 square feet. Each of the alternatives was presented with a variety of color possibilities. The design intent was to pick one style of fagade for both buildings to minimize future maintenance requirements and to help create an identifiable architecture for the City. At that meeting Council provided the architect with design direction and chose a preferred alternative 'to be developed into a schematic design. The Architect has prepared revised drawings reflecting the Council's comments and has further defined the building materials and colors. The Architect will review the revised drawings and color selections with Council. The goal for the presentation is to provide further direction and design input and to authorize the Architect to begin Design Development.
