None at this time DESCRIPTION: On February 19, 2002, the City Council received a report from Staff, which indicated that it was physically feasible to locate senior housing on the same site as the proposed new Senior Center. The City Council proceeded with an alternative which would result in the demolition of the existing Library building to develop a new Senior Center, and further provided Staff to conduct further studies on the fiscal feasibility of developing senior housing at 7606 Amador Valley Boulevard, the current site of the Library. Staff has evaluated the merits of conducting a study that would focus on the feasibility of constructing senior housing on this site versus proceeding with a Request for Proposal (RFP) for qualified developers who could provide a reasonable financial plan and specific development plan for construction of senior housing. It is Staff's opinion that proceeding 'with the Request for Proposal for a qualified developer will yield more accurate information and enable the City to proceed more quickly with the development of senior housing on the old Library site. Responses to the Request for Proposal will also help the City determine whether the senior housing can be built at the same time as the construction of the Senior Center or built as a separate project. The goal of the Request for Proposal is as follows: 1. To create affordable housing of an architecture and site design which is consistent with the Senior Center.
