I, VHEREMS, the Parks and Recreation profession in California "Creates Communi(y through People, Parks and Programs'~ and
IVI4EREAS, Parks help to preserve and protect the natural and cultural resources of California; and ~
IVHE~S, Parks and Recreation services support more productive rvorkforces, enhance the desirabilitjy of locations for business and
families, and stimulate tomism revenues to increase a total communi(y development model; and
V/HE~S, Parks and Recreation strengthens communi[y image and sense of place, and increases cultural uni(y; and
W/HERE.4S, Parks and Recreation promotes health and ~vellness and reduces health cate costs; and
[VHE~S, Parks and Recreation fosters human development, helpingyoung peopk develop and gro~v into health~y adults, and helping
adults continue to live longer; and
V/HERF_.AS, Parks and Recreation facilitates communi~ problem solvin3' a~d
IETqERE~S, Parks and Recreation strengthens safqy and secmi~y and reduces juvenile crime; and
V,/HERE~S, Thousands of California children, adults and seniors benefit from the vide range of services, fadlities and programs
provided bjy the Ciff of Dublin's Parks and Communiff Services Department.
NOW/, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Janet Lockhart, Mqor of Dublin, on behalf of the entire Ciff Coundl, urge
all Ciff of Dublin residents to enjoy and recogni~e the sodal, physical, mental, economic, environmental and communi(y benefits derived
from the programs, services and fadlities offered by the Parks and Community Services Department, which provides something of value to
evqyone, and recognize July as '~.4RKS ~4_ND RECREATION MONTH."
