FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Project costs have been approved in the Fiscal Year 2002-2003
capital Improvement Program Budget
DESCRIPTION: The Public Works Department is responsible for a number of capital
improvement projects in Fiscal Year 2002-2003. Four projects are currently under construction. These
projects include:
· 1-580/Tassajara Road Interchange Improvement
· Dublin Boulevard Widening between Village Parkway and Sierra Court including the
undergrounding of utilities
· Alamo Canal Trail project from Iron Horse Trail to 1-580
· Dougherty Road/Willow Creek Road Traffic Signal Installation
In addition, Staff has begun engineering work on seVeral freeway interchange and local street
improvement projects, as well as general and community improvements as indicated below:
General Improvements
· Fuel Tank Upgrade
· ADA Building Conformance Upgrades
· Civic.Center Generator
· Civic Center HVAC
· Front Counter Upgrade

· Iron Horse Trail Wildflower Planting
· Village Parkway Median Landscaping from Dublin Boulevard to Amador Valley Boulevard
· Village Parkway/Lewis Avenue Plaza and Pedestrian Improvements (construction portion)
· Village Parkway/Dublin Boulevard Monument (construction portion)
· San Ramon Road Banner Poles
Streets
· 1-580/Fallon Road Interchange Improvement
· 1-580/San Ramon Road Interchange Improvement
· Village Parkway/Amador Valley Boulevard Traffic signal Upgrade
· Village Parkway/Lewis Avenue Intersection Improvements
· Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair Program
· Annual Street Overlay Program
· Annual Slurry Seal Program
· 1-680 Underpass Sidewalk Reconstruction and Lighting
· Dougherty Road Improvements from 1-580 to Houston Place
· Alamo Creek Bike Path north of Amador Valley Boulevard
· Central Parkway Traffic Signal at Tassajara Creek
· Street Light Pole Replacement
· Traffic Signal Battery Backup
Staffwill provide the City Council with an update of the abovementioned projects, with emphasis on the
four projects currently under construction.
Staff recommends that the City coUncil receive and accept the presentation and provide any comments.
