.4. DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the Dublin High School Boys Varsity Volleyball Team competes in the Diablo
Foothill Athletic League; and
~ WHEREAS, the Dublin High Boys Volleyball Team completed the Diablo Foothill Athletic League
~;~'~i:' ', 2001. season in 5th place and earned a slot in the North Coast Section, Class 4 playoffs; and
WHEREAS, the Dublin High Boys Volleyball Team triumphed over top-seeded Moreau Catholic
in the Semi-Finals and overpowered No. 2 seeded Sir Francis Drake to .win the 200I North
Coast Section Class 4 Championship with a final record of 15-14; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Mike Thurlow, who began Dublin's volleyball program in 1990 and
came out of retirement to coach' this year's team, has demonstrated skill, leadership and ability
.-4 by directing the Dublin High School Boys Volleyball Team to their first championship in the
history of Dublin High' School; and
.WHEREAS, players Mike Thompson, Chris Forney, John Westerlund, Brandon Nash, Julius
Ybarra, Mike Wolfe, Esteban Hernandez, Nick Breitbart, Scott Heath and Chris Pedersen are to
be commended for their success and skill in the sport of volleyball.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that L Guy S. Houston, Mayor of Dublin, do hereby
~ recognize and congratulate the Dublin High School Boys Varsity Volleyball Team for their 2001
North Coast Section Class 4 Championship and ruish them the best of luck in their future
~ sporting endeavors.
