The Sidewalk Safety Repair is funded through the General Fund (001 ). Curb ramps
are funded through a Community Development Block Grant (209). The Amador
Valley Boulevard/Starward Drive improvements are funded through Gas Tax (206).
DESCRIPTION: On March 20, 2001, the City Council awarded Contract No. 01-02,
2000-2001 Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair Program and Curb Modifications at Amador Valley
Boulevard/Starward Drive, to Vanguard Construction.
The Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair Program repaired sidewalk locations that are offset 3/4" or more and
posed potential tripping hazards. This contract specified removal and replacement of existing sidewalk,
curb and gutter. This year's project included the construction of 14 curb ramps at various street comers.
An additional portion of this contract modified the curb and striping at the intersection of Amador Valley
Boulevard and Starward Drive.

Staff has reviewed the work on the project and has determined that the work is complete.
Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvements under Contract No. 01-02 and authorize
the release of retention after 35 days if there are no subcontractor claims.
