RECOMMENDATION:
l. Confirm Mayor's appointments to Art Selection COmmittee - Bus
Shelter Art Project.
2. Consider representation by LAVTA on the Committee.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: At the October 2, 2001 meeting the City Council approved the
formation of a seven member Art Selection Committee for the Bus Shelter Art Project and directed Staff
to advertise for openings. In addition, the Council appointed Councilmember McCormick to serve on the
Committee.
Display advertisements were published in both the Valley Times and the Tri-Valley Herald resulting in a
total of five applications; two from the business community and three from the community at large
(attached).
The Selection Committee as previously approved by the Council is to consist of two members from the
business community, three members from the community at large, one representative from the Heritage
and Cultural. Arts Commission, and one representative from the City Council. LAVTA has since
contacted Staff regarding representation on the Committee. If the Council concurs, a representative from
LAVTA Staff could serve in a non-voting capacity as does City Staff and the City's Art Consultant.
The Mayor recommends the appointment of the following individuals to the Art Selection Committee -

It is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council confirm the Mayor's appointments to the Art
Selection Committee ~ Bus Shelter Art Project and consider representation by LAVTA on the Committee.
