DESCRIPTION: On October 24, 2001, Freeway Underpass Art Project artist Daniel
Galvez and Staff attended a meeting of the SOroptimist International of Pleasanton. The group had
requested that Staff present an overview of art in Dublin and asked that the artist explain the Freeway
Project. At the conclusion of the presentation, the City was presented with a one hundred dollar donation
to be used for art in the City. Staff recommends that the donation will be used for the Classical Affair at
the Civic Art Exhibition.
Per Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally
accepted by the City Council. Therefore it is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council accept the
gift from the Soroptimist and direct Staff to prepare a formal acknowledgment to the donors. Further, it is
recommended that the City Council approve the budget change form recognizing the unanticipated
revenue and the expense.

REASON FOR BUDGET CHANGE ENTRY: The' City received a $100 donation from Soroptimist
International of Pleasanton to be used for art in Dublin. The donation will be used for the Classical Affair at
the Civic Art Exhibition. This budget change is necessary in order to recognize the revenue.
