IVHEREAS, the Tri-[/alley Communi(y Fund mas established in 1982 as an afiliate of the East Baj Communi~ Foundation in
Oakland; and
IVHE~S, since its formation, the Tri-l/a//ey Communi(y Fund has provided financial and technical assistance to health, human service,
educational and cultural agendes in the dties and communities of the Tri-P/alle_y and
lF/74E~S, such assistance has been rendered to such regional agendes as the Valley Communi(y Health Center, Hope Ho~ice, Valley
Care Foundation and maT others; and
W/I-tE~S, assistance has also been given to agendes such as the Dublin Senior Foundation, Dublin Fine Arts Foundation, Dublin
Unified School District and others in the Ci~ of Dublin; and
IVHERF_~S, the programs of the Tri-I/alley Communi~ Fund have grown to the point where it is currently involved in directing over
$I,000,000 annually to agendes andprograms for health, human service, educa/ional and cultural growth.
IF/7-IEREAS, such an agenfy has been organized as the Tri-P'alley Communitjy Foundation as a successor to the Tri-l/alley Communi(y
Fund and has successfully q)un off from the East Bay Communi~ Foundation with the blessing and suppo~ of theparent foundation.
NOW/, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Janet Lockhart, Major of Dublin,. on behalf of the entire Ci~ Coundl, do hereby
proclaim the month of December as 'Tri-Valley Community Foundation Month"in the Ci(y of Dublin and congratulates and supports the
Foundation in its new move for independent operation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Dublin Ciff Coundl urges the dti~ens and businesses of the Ciff and of the entire Tri-lf all~
Area to support the new Tri-P'alley Communiff Foundation to assure its COntinuing and growing support of health, human service,
educational and cultural activities in the region. ..
