FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None.
DESCRIPTION: In the City of Dublin's FY
City Council directed staff to proceed with the development
supplement the City's economic development efforts.

On December 7, 1999, the City Council approved a contract, not to exceed $39,850, with Goal Line
Productions to produce the video. At that same meeting, the City Council authorized Mayor Houston to
serve as the Council's liaison on this project and also directed staffto return to the City Council with the
video script for final approval before the filming starts. The overall length of the video will be between 7
and 10 minutes, and will emphasize Dublin's location, quality of life, and business community. Staff has
included the final draft (see Attachment A) of the script for the Council's review and comments, if any.
Staff anticipates that the video will be ready by the second week of May, 2000.
RECOMMENDATION: It is staff's recommendation that the City Council approve the final
draft of the script and authorize staff to proceed with the production of the promotional marketing video.

Section 1: Location
The City of Dublin is centrally located at the
junction ofi580 and 1680, 30 miles from San
Francisco, and less than 25 miles from the
cities of San Jose and Oakland. Here in the
Northern rim of the Silicon Valley,
accessibility is a fundamental ingredient for
success. With easy freeway access and the
recently completed Eastern Dublin/Pleasanton
BART station, and plans under way for the
West Dublin/Pleasanton BART station, the

growing rapidly and is expected to increase
from 30,000 presently to approximately 50,000
within ten years. This population will enjoy
Dublin's new state-of-the-art library, a new
senior center, and the recently completed
IMAX theater. Diverse shopping opportunities
at Hacienda Crossings and the cities Central
