"Sirius" is a 47' by 18' bronze sculpture created by internationally known bay area artist Peter Voulkos, "Steel Watercolor #99" created by bay area artist Fletcher Benton and "Sisyphus" a Corten Steel sculpture by another bay area artist, Roger Berry.- The agreement between KLMLP.LP, Dublin Fine Arts Foundation and the City for the Peter Voulkos sculpture, "Sirius" will expire, on December 21, 2000. The agreement contains a six-month prior notification for remoVal clause. The sculpture is located on or near-the site of the new Dublin Library. With the anticipated ground breaking for the library in March, 2001, Staff does not recommend extending the agreement for an additional 5;ear and advises that notice should be given fOr removal of the sculpture. KLMLP.LP has indicated that there may be a buyer for'the sculpture. If the piece is not sold, the sculpture could be relocated to the front lawn of the Civi. c Center, adjacent to the west access road. It is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council consider relocation of the sculpture only ifKLMLP.LP would be willing to finance the move. It is recommended that the City Council authorize the Staff to execute removal notification or consider relocation of the sculpture.
