V� (2) Authorize budget transfer in the amount of $5,920 from the Contingent Reserve. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Bids received: Unit Price Total Wabash Valley Manufacturing $251.25 $3,517.20 David F. O'Keefe Co. $259.00 $3,626.00 Hanson Associates $275.00 $3,850.00 Estimated cost of the benches at the time that the City Council authorized Staff to solicit bids was $3,480.82, plus assembly and installation costs to be incurred by the Maintenance Department. The estimated cost for assembly and installation by the Maintenance Department is $2,400. A budget transfer from the Contingent Reserve is required in order to purchase and install the benches in the current Fiscal Year. DESCRIPTION: At the November 13, 1989, City Council meeting, the Council authorized Staff to solicit bids for 14 benches to be used at bus stop locations which are not getting Livermore/Amador Valley Transit Authority bus shelters. The benches, as well as the shelters, would replace the advertising benches that are presently at the bus stops. LAVTA estimates their shelters will be installed in April, and the City's benches would be installed at the same time. Staff received a total of 3 bids on the benches, the lowest of which was from Wabash Valley Manufacturing, Inc. , at a cost of $251.25 per bench, for a total of $3,517.20. An additional cost of approximately $2,400 will be incurred by the City's maintenance department for assembling and installing the benches. Staff recommends that the City Council (1) adopt the resolution awarding the bid and authorizing issuance of a purchase order to Wabash Valley Manufacturing and (2) authorize a budget transfer from unallocated reserves in the amount of $5,920. COPIES TO: Bidders (3) Austin O'Dell, LAVTA RESOLUTION NO. -90 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN AWARDING PURCHASE ORDER FOR BUS BENCHES TO WABASH VALLEY MANUFACTURING, INC. WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on January 16, 1990, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved specifications for banners and hardware, authorized by the City Council on November 13, 1989, which specifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has. recommended that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for providing said product. NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED that. the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby award the City of Dublin purchase order for bus stop benches to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit Wabash Valley Manufacturing, Inc. , at a bid of $3,517.20, the particulars of which bid are. on file in the office of the City Engineer.
