_~ESCRIPTION : As part of the 1988-93 Capital Improvement
'ogram, the City Council provided funding for the renovation of the Dublin
~{igh School Football Field. The City retained the services of the
landscape architectural firm of Beals/Lechner Associates to prepare the
final design and construction documents for the project.
Over the past several months, City and School District staff have been
working to develop a design for the football field which would serve the
needs of both the school and the community. The original scope of work as
provided for in the CIP included turf and irrigation renovation, all
weather track, new aluminum bleacher seating, upgrade of existing lights,
new snackbar and restroom, and new pressbox. As staff progressed further
into the project, it became obvious that the funds budgeted were not
sufficient to complete the aforementioned items. Additionally, the scope
of work was altered in some cases due to further user group input and code
requirements through the Office of the State Architect. Specifically the
following items exceeded initial budget estimates: football field repair;
all weather track; relocation of track field events; replacement of lights
as opposed to upgrading lights; and bleacher repairs. Consequently staff
has revised the scope of work and developed a]ternates as follows:
