HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 3.1 Proclamation Earth Day (2) &`41 . c14, A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ' t CITY OF DUBLIN , C A L I F O R N I A WHEREAS, almost twenty years ago, more than twenty million Americans joined - together on Earth Day in a demonstration of concern for the environment ! ?..t.", creating an informed public whose collective action resulted in the passage ` of sweeping new laws to protect our air, water, and land; and 47: , r WHEREAS, Earth Day 1990 is a national and international call to action for z • all citizens to join in a global effort to save the planet; and WHEREAS, Earth Day 1990 activities and events will educate all citizens on the importance of acting in an environmentally sensitive fashion by rim* ,, recycling, conserving energy and water, using efficient transportation, and -A adopting a more ecologically sound lifestyle; and WHEREAS, Earth Day 1990 activities and events will educate all citizens on the importance of supporting the passage of legislation that will help .,, , ' protect the environment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Paul C. Moffatt, Mayor of Dublin, do , hereby proclaim April 22, 1990 as "EARTH DAY 1990" and urge all citizens to participate in Earth Day 1990 events and activities.
