Staff has met with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce representatives
to discuss the community profile brochures. Staff and the
Chamber representatives identified two types of brochures that
may be appropriate:
1. Large Format Community Promotional Brochure (8-1/2"x11") .
This type of brochure (Please see the Newark example attached)
would be aimed at major investors such as new corporations and
expanding industries. It could be distributed to interested
individuals. It could also be used at conferences and exhibits
to help promote the city.
This type of brochure would have a high quality cover emphasizing
creative use of graphic arts. The contents would consist of six
to eight pages with four color photographs, attractive printing
and graphics. Inserts, that could be easily updated and
customized according to the nature of the recipient, would be
included in a flap on the back page.
Costs associated with typesetting, printing, stapling and
assembly are estimated to be approximately $25,000 for 12,500
copies. Creative graphics services costs could range between
$5,000 and $25,000 depending on how many hours of work are
necessary. The total estimated cost would be $50,000.
2. One Page Community Highlights Flyer (3-2/3"x8-1/2") . A one
page brochure (Please see the Dublin, Georgia example) could be
distributed to a wide number of recipients, given to City
visitors, as well as used at conferences and exhibits. It would
consist of four color photographs and attractive graphics.
Costs associated with typesetting and printing are estimated to
be approximately $7,000 plus $3 ,000 for creative graphics
services for 15,000. to 20,000 copies. The total estimated cost
would be $10,000.
The. Chamber of Commerce representatives have indicated that the
Chamber would not be able to help fund these brochures, but the
Chamber would be willing to provide manpower to help develop the
brochures and help distribute them.
Staff recommends that the City Council give direction as .to the
preferred brochures, and/or provide Staff with further direction.
