DESCRIPTION: At the City Council meeting on February 10, 1992, Vice Mayor Jeffery advised the Council that the City's representative on the. Tri-Valley Community Television Board of Directors, Ms. Claudia McCormick, has submitted a letter of resignation due to other time commitments. The Cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon formed Tri- Valley Community Television Corporation, as a non-profit entity to oversee community access programming. The programming appears on Channel 30 and a majority of the funding has been provided by the member agencies. Each City has 2 appointments to the Board of Directors. Currently, ,the City of Dublin's second appointment is held by Councilmember Howard. In addition, the Board of Directors appoints three at-large positions. Recently, one of those positions was filled by the Board's appointment of Radi Sodhi, a Dublin resident and employee of Pacific Bell. Staff has contacted Dublin residents who have indicated an interest in the recent at-large position, as well as an individual suggested by Ms. McCormick. These individuals were invited to submit a letter of interest to the City Council. Staff also solicited letters of interest from residents through the issuance of a press release which appeared in local newspapers' and was posted in the community. At the time of preparation of the Staff report, no letters of interest had been received from Dublin residents. Staff would recommend that Staff be directed to initiate additional advertising regarding the vacancy. Staff would also recommend that the City Council appoint a subcommittee to interview any interested applicants. The subcommittee would make a recommendation to the City Council on the final appointment at a future meeting. PSR/lss a:224CTVAp.doc.agenda#8 - COPIES TO: Dave Adams, City of Livermore ITEM NO.
