SUBJECT: City Manager's Evaluation/Compensation

RECOMMENDATION: ;identify Council Closed Session date to conduct
City Manager's performance evaluation.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: The City Council has annually evaluated the
performance of the City Manager in May or June of each year
corresponding with the City Manager's anniversary date of May 1st.
Given the individual schedules of the City Council and City Manager
over the next month, it is recommended that the Council establish a
date at which the annual performance evaluation of the City Manager
will be undertaken.
With respect to the City Manager's annual compensation, the City
Council has typically appointed a sub-committee of the City Council to
meet with the City Manager to discuss terms of compensation each year.
The Committee has then reported to the City Council with a
recommendation.
The City Manager believes that it is not necessary for this Committee
to meet this year because he will not accept an increase to his
compensation for the upcoming year, due to the fiscal restraints the
City is presently facing.
