FINANCIAL STATEMENT:

DESCRIPTION: The City has received a request from Cindy Smyth to close
Erie Court from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight on Saturday, July 4, 1992, for a block
party and Neighborhood Watch meeting.
This is the first year that the residents of this street have requested closure.
The typical conditions for this type of request are that the residents obtain an
encroachment permit, either purchase special event insurance through the City or
provide an insurance certificate from individual homeowners' policies, and provide
lighted barricades which are to be monitored at all times. Other conditions relate
to litter cleanup and use of alcohol by adults only.
Erie Court is accessed by Ebensburg Lane. Its closure would primarily affect only
the residents of the street itself.
Copies of this Staff report have been sent to the residents of the street. Staff
recommends that the City Council review the request and approve issuance of the
encroachment permit, once the residents have obtained the insurance.

Dear Public Works Director,
This letter is to request that on the fourth of July between
the hours of 6 pm and midnight Erie Ct in Dublin be closed to
automobile traffic. The purpose for this request is to have a
court-wide fourth of July party. The residents feel that this
closure is necessary to insure the safety of the many small
children that live here. We would also like to use this time
to have a "Neighborhood Watch" meeting to discuss safety and
security issues in our neighborhood.
Thank you for your attention to our request.
