DESCRIPTION: On April 26, 1993, the City Council awarded Contract 93-03, the Annual Sidewalk Safety Repair Program (Remove and Replace) to Ambo Engineering. The annual sidewalk program replaces offset sidewalks which may become tripping hazards. This year, the annual sidewalk repair budget was divided between the traditional replacement program and the new concrete grinding project. Offsets which were caused by root damage and excessive ground movement were replaced, and the remaining sidewalk offsets were ground level through Contract 93-0'7, which is with Central Coast Surface Grinding. The sidewalk repair project, which is now complete, also replaced a sidewalk at the Community Swimming Pool to provide handicapped access and installed a new concrete slab for bicycle racks. The City Engineer has reviewed the work on the project and determined that it is complete and in accordance with the approved specifications. Staff recommends that the City Council accept the improvements and authorize final payment to Ambo Engineering in the amount of $2,958.82. a:~sidewalk~agstacpt ITEM NO. ~ ~ COPIES TO: Ambo Engineering
